High School students just won $600 in their school competion. They competed using 16 items from a healthy basket of food from WEGMANS.
In Lehigh County PA, culinary students are leading the way learning about nutrition, planning a healthy diet, and then buying and cooking the food. The LCTI culinary program was chosen based on its leadership in innovation and success with student programs.
On April 8 the culmination of their effort was a Be a Force for Health Cook Off with a Healthy Basket Challenge sponsored by Wegmans.
Five students competed before judges as they prepared a four course meal for judges health expert, Dr. Robert Gillio, Tina Amato a nutritionist for the Allentown Health Bureau and Paul Fantasia, a public health education intern with the Force for Health Foundation.
